Judith Adams Lagana is the founder and co-editor of River Heron Review and writes under the pen name of J. Adams Lagana.
Her poetry has appeared in Atlanta Review, the Paterson Literary Review, Naugatuck River Review, and formercactus. Her writing has also been recognized by the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Foundation. She has written short stories and is at work on the seventh draft of her novel. She remains an active member of the Bucks County poetry community.
Judith has successfully led writing workshops and taught writing to individuals of all ages. She holds an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Rutgers University. During her ongoing and long career as the Academic Supervisor for the Art, English, and Music departments with the Freehold Regional High School District, she has been instrumental in developing programs and practices that emphasize poetry and writing, with a focus on creative writing.
An Affiliate of Amherst Artists and Writers (AWA), Judith is an experienced writing workshop facilitator. She leads cross-genre creative writing workshops in the Bucks County, Pennsylvania area and online.
Judith lives in New Hope, Pennsylvania with her husband, Tony, their son, Anthony, and Rumi, their adopted retired racing greyhound.
